IMPERMANENCE

In this fully staged production, the phenomenal Meredith Monk and her dynamic Vocal Ensemble combine music, dance and video to reflect the delicacy and power of the human spirit. Voice, piano, clarinet, bicycle wheel and other inventive instrumentation accompany an array of scenes - a montage of video portraits; performers balanced on chairs that seemingly float in space; a celebration dance; ten hands playing one piano; and songs of beginnings and endings. impermanence creates a collage of emotion, image, and sound that gently transports the audience through a haunting, mysterious, and essentially human experience.
